Before and during the stay

you will be able to find a few local whiskies on our shelfs

You no longer have to visit the Highlands to sample some of this delicious 'water of life'. In the past few years Fife has seen the emergence of not one, nor two, but three whisky distilleries in the Kingdom of Fife. Here's why you need to add Fife to your list for a distillery tour.

After a break of 523 years, spirit is once again flowing from the copper stills at  Lindores Abbey Distillery. With Lindores Abbey’s widely recognised links to the earliest written reference to Scotch Whisky and learning as much as we can from the great Scottish distillers around us, past and present, we are bringing a very modern whisky-making approach to this ancient site.

When Fife Ambassador Douglas Clement was a golf caddy at Kingsbarn he regularly directed his golf buddies to the nearest distillery, which was more than 50 miles away. Douglas spotted an opportunity and Kingsbarn Distillery was born. Renovating a beautiful derelict farm building into a modern, classy distillery, decorated sympathetically with the surrounding landscape was the beginning of a successful venture by the Wemyss family, an important family in Fife who’s barley was already being used to make whisky by leading distillers across the country.

Inspired by the captivating landscape of this coastal town, each sip unravels a story of refinement and craftsmanship. The costal waters shouldering this ancient golfing mecca, lend their essence to the gin, giving it it's unique profile. Eden Mill captures the very spirit of the region. This premium nature shines through in every aspect, from the meticulous distillation process to the rich, balanced flavours that evoke a sense of place. Like the historic university and famous golf courses that grace St. Andrews, Eden Mill Gin epitomises excellence, offering a refined experience that is truly unparalleled.

We have always been open-minded in the spirits that we have produced. Tay Port Distillery been Scotland's first Eau de Vie to showcase the amazing fruit on our doorstep, to producing a vodka made with Scottish Malt Barley rather than potato or wheat... We believe that experimentation and exploration of local flavours has given us a unique insight into producing premium products. After a successful launch of our premium craft spirits range, we have opened our doors bringing you inside our distillery and demonstrate the art of premium spirit and cocktail making.

Daftmill one of Scotland’s smallest malt whisky distilleries, set in the heart of Fife. Please note that it is working farm and they dont have visitor facilities. The distillery operates in harmony with the farm. The farm grows the barley then after it is mashed in the spent grains or draff provide a nutritious protein rich feed for the cattle. Their whisky is very limited and therefore often sells out very quickly once released. Most recently, we’ve brought out our second age statement release, a cask strength 15-year-old bottled at Fife Strength. Visit releases page for details and releases date.
